As an active member, you’ll play a vital role in selecting funding applications for Torfaen’s Participatory Budgeting (PB) project, Communities Choice. You’ll collaborate closely with the PB Communities Choice Coordinator, attending monthly meetings to discuss key community issues, evaluate funding ideas, score proposals, and support local engagement events.
The People’s Committee is committed to a fair and transparent decision-making process, selecting the best proposals to advance to a public vote. By joining, you’ll empower residents to actively shape local projects that address priority community issues.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
- Supporting local meetings and events.
- Promoting the Participatory Budgeting project in Torfaen.
- Working as part of a team to identify key community concerns and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
- Reviewing and monitoring funded projects to ensure they are delivered as outlined.
- Providing ongoing feedback to TVA’s Communities Choice Coordinator to help refine future PB initiatives.
- Completing Level 1 numeracy training to support the effective management of allocated funding.
